Note to recent laptop owners, lithium-ion technology has come a long way & more or less requires little to no conditioning. Newer batteries fail to recognize the calibration methods designed for older models (although older ones will). However, I would follow his suggestion & remove the battery when running your laptop off of the charger & only using the battery when no plug is available as this alone will x2 the average users battery life.
