Exceed HP, the Apple become the global biggest PC company

The market research firm – Canalys released a report on monday says that plus ipad tablet PC, apple have exceeded HP become the global biggest PC company the fourth quarter of last year.

Canalys included the ipad tablet PC in the client PC statistics, this calculation has a big different with the market research firm Gartner and IDC standard PC ship calculation, the latter only count the desktop and laptop.

The calculation according to the Canalys, the fourth quarter of last year, the global PC shipments increase 16% up to 1.2 billions, this is mainly driven by the demand from Tablet PC, exclude tablet PC, the global PC shipments decline 0.4%.

Apple the fourth quarter PC share up to 17%, increase 6%; HP slide to the second, and it also have the fierce competition by Lenovo, Lenovo is the only company that the share increased following the Apple. Dell and Acer rank 4 and 5, their share all have declinde.

Canalys Tablet PC computing not only iclude ipad, it also include RIM’s PlayBook, Amazon’s Kindle Fire Ect. “Pad” model, Amazon kindle and Barnes & Noble Nook Ect. electronic readers are also included. But Canalys didn’t disclosure each products’ shipments, only reports that “Pad” model occupy 22% of the fourth quarter PC shipments.
